Upgrade Your Kilimanjaro Experience with Cultural and Ethnic Deep-Dive

After your Kilimanjaro climb, you will not want to leave Tanzania. Stay and experience our most popular program, the Safari and Ethno Trip.
Safari and Ethno Trip in Tanzania

Your guide, Akos, is not only a mountain guide; he is also a cultural anthropologist who won’t leave you alone after your big climb to Africa’s top. He will stay with you for this unforgettable 3-day-long safari which offers to present you the Ngrongoro Crater, which is the largest unflooded and unbroken crater in the world, and Lake Manyara, which Hemingway described as “the loveliest I have seen in Africa”. With a bit of luck, you will also see Africa’s “Big Five”, that is, lions, leopards, elephants, and cape buffalos.

The real speciality of the trip comes on the 3rd day, when you visit the Hadza tribe. Hadza people, even today, live as hunters-gatherers, much like their ancestors have for tens of thousands of years. Just so you know, they are among the last hunters-gatherers in the world.

Note: You can book this trip only together with Kilimanjaro.

Day 1 – Lake Manyara

You will leave Arusha in the morning by jeeps/minibuses and visit Lake Manyara National Park. Ernest Hemingway’s favorite park in Africa, Manyara offers you buffalos, wildebeests, and elephants, among others. You will amazed at the richness of wild life. Nature will appear like you’ve never imagined before. After the whole day trip, you will go have dinner and spend the night at the Panorama camp, which is situated in the great rift valley.

Day 2 – Ngrongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, you will drive to the Ngrongoro Crater and National Park, which is the largest unflooded and unbroken caldera in the world with impressive wildlife. You won’t believe your eyes in the face of this wild richness; you’ll realize wildlife is not like watching the Discovery Channel. What’s more, close to Ngorongoro, you will find the remains of the earliest humans in Oldupai Gorge. Around 4-5 PM you will head to Lake Eyasi camp where we will be spending the night.

Day 3 – Hadza Tribe

As the topping on the cake, you save the best for last. Today you will be visiting the Hadza tribe. Can you imagine what life was 10-20,000 years ago when the survival of humans was a daily issue? Now you will see. You will go hunting with the Hadza men and you will return transformed. After the unique encounter, you will skip back to the present and drive back to Arusha.
